My grandparents used to have a vacation rental here that I used to go to w/ my parents. There used to be 3 palm trees on the property until one of huge hurricanes (Hugo I think?) went through and blew them all out of the ground. Haven't been there since 3rd grade but I'd love to go back.

@sieneke: The weather here is just about the same as it is there, so I'll take it ;) When I went to the Netherlands, I only visited Amsterdam for about a day, I actually was visiting with a friend so I got to see a lot of the rest of the country. I also went to Belgium and Germany. Other than that I've only been around North America. I'd like to travel more though that's for sure.

Oh yeah. That one on the right is very nice. I like the fact taht with that house I wouldn't suddenly feel I was in another dimension or something. Most super nice places would lose the appeal after a couple of months, I think.

If I had to live somewhere other than where I am now, I would move to Alaska to live near my sister. I visited there last November and it was one of the most enjoyable trips I have ever taken. Even though it was November it was not unbearably cold and though it was wet and rainy most of the time, it was so beautiful it was worth being a little wet. Besides who wouldn't want to see the above outside your window every day?

London! Since I don't know better to say exactly where, I'll show this neighborhood where I stayed during my last visit which seemed nice enough (behind the tree on the left), on Guildford Street just off Gray's Inn Road. I do know that I like living in the middle of things, though I imagine prohibitive rent would probably force me farther out. Just saw Hare & Billet Rd on the map which inspires this goofy thought: maybe I would house hunt for a place on a road or near a pub with Rabbit or Hare in the name :)

Hare & Billet Road? Excellent. That's one facet of living in England that I'll never grow tired of, noticing ludicrously named villages and streets on the road map. You only have to look for a minute to find some place nearby called Luckington Sprocket or something.

my sister spent a week in Iceland this past May, snowboarding, hiking, rafting and enjoying the hot springs. She nearly didn't return home, she loved it there so much.
