Today, I have mainly been working on getting a wordpress accordion working on my website. I have been working very hard on it. And it's still not really doing what I need it to be doing, bearing in mind I'm mainly doing it to figure something out for a client.
On a wider scale, over the past couple of years I worked ridiculously, mind crunchingly hard on my Masters degree in Digital Arts, which is now finished. The story of that is documented on the blog. So there it is. Two tweaks in one.

Good stuff! I don't agree with your dismissal of Flash, but that's also because I never use it to do anything more than draw or make animations (my coder coworkers agree that it's annoying). But I like your site and I'll have to poke around it more when I get the time. (I know I posted this comment multiple times--don't ask).

@athanie: I think you're using Flash for its optimal purpose. The main problem I have with it is that it's a pain to maintain a Flash site. I'm softening to it a bit but mainly for focused jobs. If I was making a really short term, high impact promotion, say for a film then that would be good, because you can make really strikingly snazzy things with it. One accusation that a guy (called Jonathan Harris) makes who I happened to blog about was that Flash tends to be very concerned with surface and not enough with substance, which I find can often be the case. But there's no point blaming the tool there I guess.

No, I am not rich and don't have an impressive career. But I worked very hard to get from 'living on $25 a week and a massive student loan' to 'a nice salary that allows me to buy an extra coffee or a new cd without worrying about paying my bills.' Most of the 'hard work' had nothing to do with hard labor, but with overcoming mental challenges and doing (scary) things I thought I would never be able to do.

I'm with @thedigitalghost on fitness. I don't have the six-pack abs, nor will I ever, but since the end of March I've been going to Curves two or three times a week to get this couch potato into shape. I've lost inches (not pounds, which won't happen until I lose beer) and I am very pleased that I have strength, stamina, I'm toned, and what's here is gradually redistributing into a better shape. I've worked hard to keep myself working out on a regular schedule, which is a remarkable achievement for me because as you learned the other day, I am lazy.
(Ladies, I highly recommend Curves. It's international, it takes 30 minutes, and it hardly feels like you're working out but the benefit is almost immediate.)

Stayin' Alive. No, Seriously. It's kind of hard. It seems funny at first, but think about it. I'm young, and Media and everything is just pushing so many hazardous things. Drugs is becoming extremely common. Kids at 16 is becoming the norm. Your not cool if you don't drink. If your even the SLIGHTEST bit different, your going to get talked about. Its tough. So many thing are invading my life, and eating away at it. Everything has a risk. And with the rise of the Internet, exposing personal info is becoming progressively easier and easier to do. There my rant for today.

@coco-tidan: The engine of the model creates a simulated n-dimensional world that you can interact with graphically or programatically.
In the real world a physical object has a position in time and space. In this virtual world individual data objects have a position within that virtual world. The values which govern the position of data objects, in any dimension, can be updated in real time. The world is created and modelled automatically by the technology as these values change.
Just as in the real-world where physical laws govern how objects can bond and move, both the virtual world itself, and the movement and bonding of data objects, are governed by Laws of Interaction. These laws control how the virtual world operates, with different laws governing different types of data. As the data objects are moved within the virtual world, they can form relationships or bonds with other data objects. These relationships are created and dissolved automatically.
First product based on it is now complete.
Sorry for the long explanation but hey, you asked for it!

@passepartout: Nice thing is it can be used horizontally and can model anything. First application is modelling the interactions of Business and the IT that supports it... modelling data flows through an organisation.
The more information you can feed it, the more complete a picture it builds of it's virtual world. When you ask it questions you can get answers you weren't expecting... because it sees the big picture and sees things you haven't spotted yourself. When you look again you see it was right. Freaky!Nov 10, 2009 11:48 by demander. -

Sounds almost like a 3d virtual version of Wolf Alfram? Like, add as much or as little as you want to it, and it understands these attributes?
Nov 10, 2009 17:11 by toyotaboy. -

@toyotaboy: Rather than being based on hard facts like WolframAlpha, it's more interpretive of transitional data - any data as it is schema-less. And it can handle as many dimensions as you want to throw at it too, which is nice.
Also, it's bit like Schrödinger's cat too - who cares about stuff until you take a look! It's like you don't really know what is behind you until you look at it. So relationships in data can come and go but what's important is what's the world look like when you take a walk through it.Nov 10, 2009 18:26 by demander.
