Last Sunday, I took Lucy outside while raking leaves, and since I did not want to tie her to the bench, I told her to sit on it and... she DID!!! AMAZING!!! =o)

This is JJ, He will talk when he wants.... Not when you want, Hates showers or baths unless you are not watching and he is control. This is Tink's partner in crime, "my" dog Copper. Copper is a pure-bred miniature Australian Shepherd. Problem is, the "miniature" part of his DNA never really kicked in. So he's almost full-sized. And he's crazy. If he is not being pet(ted?) and there is person in the room, he will whine and pace and push his head against people until he gets that sweet sweet rush of affection. To cut his hair or brush him takes two people- one to do the work, and one to pet him so he stays still. But he's so beautiful (even when he's making these funny faces) and cuddly and sweet, I can't wait to see him again!

My two cats, littermates Dante (black) and Maia (tabby). You might recognize them from the mouse cam mission. They're very talkative and have big personalities (and stomachs), although they are not too pesky or particularly active. I ran across a kitty zodiac book recently which informed me they are near perfect examples of Taurean cats- they like to sit around, eat, and enjoy the finer things in life.

LOL this is an older picture of them but one of my favorites, so I put it up here. They have been on a pretty strict diet of limited quantities of very expensive cat food for the last year, and looking at this picture I just realized how much weight they have lost. BTW Dante topped out at 28 pounds before we stopped feeding him cheap food. I don't know how much he weighs now because I can't get him to stay on the home scale, but it's a lot less. Don't feel too bad for him, though. He's a big cat and the vet once told me 15-19 pounds would be an acceptable weight range.

I couldn't help but to start singing Janet Jackson's "Black Cat"; it's a disorder. I had black cat (a Bombay), and little did I know that she was expecting when I took here in. I soon had 13 solid black cats, all named after witches, wizards, sorcerers, and kings.

Minnie-fish, named by my son after his sister. Minnie-fish is the fish that wouldn't die. She's outlived Goldie and Jacob-fish (yes, named by minnie after her brother), lived thru 2 outbreaks of "cotton wool" fungus (now without most of her tailfin), lived thru a week of no food when I left her in the care of my husband while I took the kids on a trip.....All three of my kids say "goodnight fishie" at bedtime :) Her tank is their nightlight

This is my dog Charlie and my cat Newt. Don't read the following if Hallmark Cards make you cry:
Newt was a stray. The morning after we moved into this apt she was outside just sitting there. She was ragged and weather worn and we found out she was a stray, someone had abandoned her. The neighbors had been feeding her and couldn't take her in because they had other cats. One of them said he brought her to the vet and the vet wanted to put her down because she was too aggressive. She was a mean cat for a while, but now, three months later, she lets us pick her up and pet her tail, whereas when we first met her she'd try to slash us to death if he touched her. I don't know what kind of cat she is.Charlie is around 9. 2 1/2 years ago he was diagnosed with lymphoma. The doctors said he wouldn't live more than a year. He's still with us. But unfortunately the treatments have stopped working and he has to be put down after thanksgiving. Please send your love his way and all of you with pets in heaven tell them to greet him at the gates. He's a good dog. I don't mean to be a downer on this blog, but I'm sure you pet owners understand. Thanks for letting me share.

Lots of love go to your sick friend. I have seen a few beloved dogs and cats go in my life, and I always try to remember that sometimes putting them to sleep is kinder than trying to keep them alive when they are hurting and confused.

I'm so sorry about Charlie. That is a hard time to go thru. We just put ours down because of Cancer so I understand. Prayers your way. And I think Newt is a "Tortie" or perhaps a "Torbie" haven't the slightest what these mean but my cat looks very similar and an avid cat lover told me she looked like one of those.

CJ and Dasie came to us grown up and without rabbit experience, so don't quite know what to do about Robbin. He takes advantage of that.

She was a beautiful cat. You had her a long time too, bet she had a good life with you and your family.
I lost my cat Jerry (gorgeous siamese/tiger mix, had her 14+ years) a few years back. Hurt so much I couldn't bear to get another. Migrated to birds. Learned that it hurts when they pass too. Can't win. But I love having something cuddly to love. (or not so cuddly in the case of my keets and bettas)

These are my boys. Schmeow (the fuzzier one) is 6 years old. We got Moe (the white & black one) a little over a year ago and he turned one in August. They occasionally like each other. Here's visual proof.
