I miss my girlfriends. They don't live TOO far from me, but they're all at least an hour and a half or more away. I wish they lived closer so we could go shopping together or get coffee or just hang out at each others houses. I try and find girlfriends who live closer, but it never seems to work out.

most of mine live about 3 hours away. I have a few nearby, but us all being moms makes it hard to find time to get out. I actually can't remember the last time I went out with the girls, probably before my youngest was born (and she's almost 2)

That looks so good! Earlier this week I read this article on BBC about the connection between hummus, national pride, and politics in that part of the world. Very interesting. I only ever make the mushy part, but the dish pictured above and in the article looks even more delicious. I would like to try it that way sometime.

Prichard police have identified the "person of interest" in a fatal shooting last week as 25-year-old Kanoya Dewayne Oakley, police said today.
Police are searching for Oakley, who is also known as "Black," in connection with a shooting in the 3400 block of Dial Street about 4:15 a.m. on Thursday, according to a City of Prichard news release.
Annie Marie Langley, 28, of Saraland, and Jared Wade Sheffield, 32, of Mobile, were found shot inside a Chevrolet Cavalier that had struck a tree, police records show. Sheffield died that afternoon at a local hospital, police said.
Oakley was last seen driving an older model, light-colored, two-door vehicle with rust spots on the back end, according to the news release. He is considered armed and dangerous and is known to frequent Stile, Cheeseman, and Daniels avenues and Owens and Dial streets, the news release states.

There have been times when I couldn't attend family gatherings because I couldn't afford the cost of the trip. It was so sad knowing everyone was together and I couldn't be there just because of money. Makes me more determined to save for those occasions, though.

My goal this year is to be able to gracefully do a cartwheel again (graceful being the operative word, lol). My grandma just passed away- she's the one who taught me how to do a cartwheel so I'm gonna get there and say her name every time I do one.

@rabbitdan: It was a beautiful apt. Great location, except it was on the 1st floor and they started doing construction. I worked at a bar so didn't get to bed most nights until 4am then would wake up at 7 to jack hammers outside my window. Ughhhhhhhhhh.

@nonlinear_time: No, it's hockey on ice, but instead of a hockey stick, you've got a broom and instead of a puck, you've got a ball. Oh, and everyone's slippin' and slidin' all over the place. You can't run in a normal way or you'll slip, which makes it very funny when two or more people are racing toward the ball. It's non-stop laughter, really.
(And best to have some first aid on hand ;o)

I remember I could call a big host of seagulls from a couple of miles or more just by throwing crumbs in the air, then this living cloud used to approach like a whole creature. Everything was wonderful.

Nr. 1 I am reunited with in a little more than two weeks.

I wish I could be with you to enjoy the Mexican food, because I like enjoying it with people who enjoy it. I can't comprehend that there isn't Mexican food in Europe. Though apparently there is Canadian food. Believe it or not, that Canadian bar (yes, that one) is on my list of stops.
