I don't read in bed and have no books next to my bed. Too easy to read all night. Not a good idea for me when sleeping at all is difficult.

The stack from top to bottom:
1. Napoleon's Art of War by Napoleon Bonaparte (only in conjunction with below)
2. On War by Carl Von Clausewitz (A slow, laborious read with lots of note-taking)
3. Seeing by José Saramago (Best living fiction author. I devoured some of his other books but I'm having trouble getting into this one)
4. The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra (I plan to get through it eventually...)
5. Fifteen Decisive Battles of the Western World by Edward Shepherd Creasy (I have to read a whole chapter in one sitting for it to make any sense, and I haven't felt dedicated recently)The facedown one I'm presently consumed with is The Death of Ivan Ilyich & Other Stories by Leo Tolstoy.
He takes my breath away.Jul 10, 2009 12:34 by merendis-

Just decoration/sentimental value. Wouldn't be opposed, but all shisha-at-home attempts I've witnessed have been failures, not sure I want to try

If you put that book next to Naomi Klein's "No Logo: Taking Aim at the Brand Bullies ", would they duke it out in the dark, or debate diurnally?
http://www.amazon.com/No-Logo-Taking-Brand-Bullies/dp/0312271921
Is this the author "Anne Elizabeth Moore" who who wrote "Unmarketable: Brandalism, Copyfighting, Mocketing, and the Erosion of Integrity", or is the name similarity just a coincidence?

The black void is You Shall Know Our Velocity, and I haven't finished The Shock Doctrine yet because it's kind of heavy. Physically, I mean. I have very skinny arms.

i had this very ambitious plan to read all of shakespeare's work when i moved to dallas. so far i think i've re-read three plays... kind of unimpressive after having been here for two years. the annie proulx is amazing. sadly lethem's comic book is nowhere near as good as his book, 'fortress of solitude'.
