This tripod belonged to my dad. There was an attempt to sell it in a garage sale for $5 once, but nobody bought it. Somewhere along the line it became mine and i've been occasionally using it for the past 4-5 years now. It's very heavy, hard to use, and unstable. So, since my boyfriend has a nice, new tripod I steal his. :)
I don't think i'll get rid of this antique just yet.
I estimate it to be at least 40 years old.

This might be the oldest gadget I own. It's easily 50-100 years old.
I found it in my late great-grandparents' house when I was living there in 2000-2002. The top reads "Greetings from your milk man" and the other side advertises Frank Cole & Son, a family dairy business which apparently dates back to the 1800s. I'm not sure if they're still around. As I understand it, the pointy end is for stabbing and removing the paper type of milk bottle caps, and the round end is for the metal kind, which I find quite handy for opening beer bottles.

@iandavid Don't have anything like that started (i.e., Flickr) but have TONS of material. Great idea ... and, oh lordy, another project (see tomorrow's Tweak project). BTW, where's "there"? My dairy folks are in Maryland.

@lmnewman Oh, I meant I'd like to track the history of the object on the Flickr page for my photo, so you should pass along the link to there as opposed to here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/iandavid/3532911194/
But I guess I forgot to mention that the geographical "there" is Rhode Island.

I thought this was a great mission until I actually tried to figure out which is my oldest gadget. I see lots of musical stuff...radios, walkmans...I have a walkman, but I bought it at a second hand store not too long ago, so it's not my oldest. I'm more of a "Out with the old, and in with the New type of guy" This Uniden phone is one of my oldest I guess. Had it at least 10 years. Have messages on there that are 5 years old!
