I've read "Power of Now' a few months ago and it really inspired me. I'm reading it again at the moment. I started in A New earth as well, but I put it down. I didn't like Tolle's writing style at all in this book. To me it felt as if he was trying to give me/us the feeling we're bad people and after that has succeeded, he'll be right man to give us all the answers we need to become better people.
Very different from the Power of Now...

@lewisfilms: Once again, I don't really read much.. Didn't read this either.. but did watch the movie. I thought I was going to hate it. I thought all the hype was stupid... BUT I must admit it wasn't THAT horrible. Couple cheesey parts, I am sure the book is probably a million times better.. I will watch New Moon when it comes out.... Just my opinion :)

This book is great, too! Although I thought this movie adaptation was pretty good, my absolute favorite was the 1995 mini series with Colin Firth. They don't leave anything out (it's about 6 hours long, but totally worth it!)

(Without becoming horror, these are some of Dahl's most macabre stories. Delicately, the naïve punish the wicked, but also the other way around.
Most of the stories are presented as typical narratives, albeit with imaginative characters. The horror of each story is built around implication, and many horrific endings, involving death or unpleasant situations, can only be implied, since nothing is directly stated.)
I love it <3... My recommendation... absolutely.

I'm a huge fan of his short stories. Reading "Landlady" in 6th grade blew my mind- it was a novel feeling to be horrified and nervous while still smirking at the end of the story.

Tessa has just months to live. Fighting back against hospital visits, endless tests, drugs with excruciating side-effects, Tessa compiles a list. It’s her To Do Before I Die list. And number one is Sex. Released from the constraints of ‘normal’ life, Tessa tastes new experiences to make her feel alive while her failing body struggles to keep up. Tessa’s feelings, her relationships with her father and brother, her estranged mother, her best friend, and her new boyfriend, all are painfully crystallised in the precious weeks before Tessa’s time finally runs out.

The Beatles, by Bob Spitz.
Very good biography. The guy took 7 years to write. It's from 2005.
Highly recommended.I've just finished reading it today, a couple of minutes ago. It's sad, because I was very involved with it for months.
It has almost 1000 pages and it's great to watch videos on YouTube and read Wikipedia articles along with the book.I'll certanly read it a lot of times again. It's a timeless piece of history and pop culture.
