My mom brought this money-box shaped like a telephone booth and mug back from London when she went there in... 1997 or so? I've been to Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, but I've never been to London. Actually, I had plans to visit my friend in London for old year's eve, but I don't think that'll be happening...

My dad traveled a lot when I was a kid but he usually brought me little gifts from the places he'd been. Here are three that I've kept...can't remember where the marble turtle and the bracelet are from, but the golden barrette is from Turkey.

I think that the bracelet is from the far off land of Maureen. I have no idea where Maureen is located though; kinda' rusty on my geography. The barrette is awesome.

@bill: Funnily enough it was a souvenir bottle of rum from the Caribbean that taught me two important life lessons: Never drink alcohol from a bottle with a hand written label, and never drink the mixed punch if you suspect said alcohol has gone into it.
(I would actually amend that to 'never drink the mixed punch.')

@noiselesspenguin: I agree with the first lesson totally. A friend brought me back a bottle of rum that was in what looked like a mayonnaise jar, and it was labeled "Rum", written with a permanent marker. Sweet Jeebus! To say it was potent, would be a great injustice.
