My grandfathers recliner. I've had it tucked away in storage since his death about 20 years ago. Two years ago, my mother secretly had it reupholstered for me as a Christmas gift. My grandfather was so amazing, and I spent every summer of my life with him.

My Nannys old charm bracelet (She had a story to go along with each charm attached to it) and my Grandmothers opal ring. Probably the two pieces that have the most sentimental Value to me out of everything I own. The opal necklace is from @soarkaios and also one of the other rings. The pink ring is from my mom.   You mentioned something about studying for a russian test before, and I wanted to comment in Russian, but then I realised after a year and a half of intensive study, I know absolutely nothing. Except some bastardized version of the lyrics to a couple songs. The instinct returned with this post, but it's hopeless. That's really cool and impressive, you have my utmost respect.

These are the Magic Tricks that I had when I was younger. They're some of my favorites, and what I attribute to my still being interested in magic today. Unfortunately, None of them are the actual peices I had as a kid, but I've found and re-purchased them over the years.

  I have a few of these laying around at my moms house from when I was younger. I used to just sit on the grass and look around all day long if that's what it took to find one. I was so determined.

  @merendis: In 1898, the New York Biscuit Company and the American Biscuit and Manufacturing Company merged over 100 bakeries into the National Biscuit Company, later called Nabisco. Founders Adolphus Green and William Moore, orchestrated the merger and the company quickly rose to first place in the manufacturing and marketing of cookies and crackers in America. In 1906, the company moved its headquarters from Chicago to New York. That Board was one of the first original signs used for the company... pretty cool huh?

All this jewelry belonged to my grandmother, and one ring to my great-grandmother. It was their prized Polish amber, which seemed a lot more exotic when I was in Missouri. Either way, I hold my heritage dear, so these hold special sentimental value to me.

note: it's really difficult to take a decent photobooth picture of a necklace and two rings, so please ignore what appears to be my freakish, disembodied, thumbless hand.

  @a_noob: The necklace is (supposedly, I'm a little afraid to have it actually tested) cherry-amber. It's red, more opaque, and much more rare than what you normally see. Thanks, I like it too :) My aunt passed it down to me when I graduated from uni.

Sorry for lo-res pic. This is a bracelet that my first real girlfriend gave me back when I was 17. I lost the original one in Norfolk and scoured Camden market in London for an identical one. I don't know why, but I've always kept this bracelet, and still wear it regularly, although it's six years old now and starting to show its age.

  jewelry seems to be the perfect vehicle for sentimentality. I guess because it's durable, small and portable it's much easier to see all the time and be reminded- at the same time, it can make it harder to forget
