Seinfeld. Everyone loved that show but I could never laugh at it. I tried to fit in but couldn't. People think I'm nuts. Oh, the shame. I also thought all the characters were over acted...unless that's how New Yorkers actually act like.

Pan's Poxy Labyrinth. Yes Guillermo, we like your scary monsters and your magic realism, but there's no point in telling a story if you end it by saying "...but perhaps it was just her imagination. OR WAS IT?". What a colossally futile narrative. "But it had the Spanish Civil War in it, so it's History!" say all my friends. Yes, but all it said about it was "Fascists are bad, m'kay?". I really really wanted to like this film...

Specifically the movie, not the book. The film version is an insipid translation of the gusty, dark novel. Unless I'm missing something vital, I cannot understand why the screen adaptation is wildly popular. But everyone seems to love it...

I don't like french fries OR ketchup. Together or separately. There is only one bar (Runyon's) that has tolerable fries, and the only time I will use ketchup is on a corndog, and then just a dab.

The same greasy sugar-coated americanized crap you could find at any corner shack, only marked up another 200% and served in a nightmare of stucco and pretension with the word "bistro" slapped on for good measure.

It never fails, whenever I'm in a group trying to decide where to go, somebody brings it up. It's the only restaurant I've ever refused to visit.

...and the last time I caved (it was a friend's birthday dinner) I got food poisoning. I thought I was eating a small fried shrimp-body... that's what it looked like. Later I realized there were no shrimp bodies in the dish... the spiky thing with small appendages coming off was more likely a cockroach.
