Our haunted houses always took place in abandoned factories in the sketchiest part of downtown. Compared to that haunted houses were nothing. Although the entrance to this one is pretty terrifying!

eek! the kind in warehouses, factories or basements, are even scarier! thats the kind we had when i was a kid, too. we even had an one in an old closed down mental hospital :( but still even the 'fun' ones are too scary for mee!

To get the full-on terror of this, run it in full screen. It's much more accurate.
This is from an old computer game that was really strange; the first half made sense but the second was set in a very atmospheric, creepy land full of creeping horrors, volcanoes, nasty monsters, and very trippy/melty/freakish graphics.
Ever since I was six or seven this monster has terrified me. I used to run away when it came on the screen. Even now, it's really a frightening creature with its wriggly claws and nasty grin, despite being in 8-bit pixels ;)
Oh, and I still can't work out how to complete the second half of the game. It's got to be one of the strangest games ever created for children.

Event Horizon.... Even some adults I talk to say that movie scared the hell out of them. I saw this when it came out on VHS at home in the dark. I was like 12 years old.

It was terrifying! The one that really got me was when Tidyup caught some kind of measles and went crazy. My friends reminded me of it when I was about 18 and it still made me cry with fear just thinking about it! And I'm not one for crying!

I saw Sasquatch - The Legend of Bigfoot as a kid. Scared the CRAP out of me. There was a row of pine trees in our back yard in Upstate NY and I was sure Bigfoot lived there and was going to come crashing through my window and grab me.
