I'd say no. The content of mythos of ancient greek for example is not strictly linked to the rituals of worshipping deities. Consider also that often mythos were about heroes, not only gods, and they were the main script for theatre pieces aswell. A pre-religious zone, allegories, metaphores.

buy a bottle of Melatonin. it's not an actual drug since our bodies produce it naturally. it comes in either 1mg or 3mg. 1mg works fine for me, 3mg for some odd reason can't make me fall asleep. but yeah, it's all natural and body friendly! :)
have a fan going all night. the hum of it at night will help you fall asleep and the coldness you'll feel in the morning will make you miserable enough to get up and put on a sweater.

there's something that happened, called the great vowel shift or something. Words that were around in English before this shift retained their original plural forms, whereas words that entered into use afterwords stuck with the new rules of pluralization. This Goose/Geese but not Moose/Meese.

The qwerty keyboard organization was designed for typewriters with moving levers for each letter. Someone figured out that the arrangement reduced the likelihood that the levers would jam when people were typing fast. It has to do with how often some letters occur near each other in English.

Do you enjoy writing novels? Parallel careers are good because you have more than one leg to stand on. I'd say go for it. Will give me something to read too. : )

Well, I have written over 100 pages of one novel and about 65 of a second, but since I do it in my spare time, it goes really, really slowly. One is fantasy and the other in sci fi. Those are the genres I read and enjoy the most, so they're the ones I think in creatively.

I think the intentionality of lying is what the story is about, so I'd think that it would grow if he intended to deceive whoever he was talking to, but it wouldn't if he didn't because he would just be stating something false... I think.

If his nose was about to grow after he told a lie, it would grow regardless what he said after he lied. This poses another question: why do noses and ears still grow after you get old?

Well if he said that out of the blue, it would be a lie. So his nose would grow, but when it does the lie is no more a lie so technically it would have to shrink again then :p But I don't think it ever did :p

For evolutionary science, give Jared Diamond or, even better, Steven Jay Gould a try. For books that take place in another time, I might suggest "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke. It is fantasy, but it reads like a 19th century novel to me. I also love Charles Dickens and Nathaniel Hawthorne for historical fiction. When I think about coming of age stories, so many of them revolve around men it is annoying. In that vein, though, I would suggest the four Earthsea books by Ursula K. Le Guin- Tehanu, the last one, was one of my favorite books of all time, but it isn't as poignant if you haven't read the others. They're a quick read, though. Oh, and if you have never read the Iliad and and Odyssey, you really should, but be sure to get Stanley Lombardo's translations- they capture the raw quality of the ancient Greek so much better than translations that focus more strictly on matching meter and grammatical structures.

Tomatoes, herbs, lettuce - things that you use often that are better when fresh.

Veggies that grow well in your area and that you will enjoy having an abundance of because you will hopefully have great success with your garden and will have lots and lots of veggies to enjoy/cook and freeze.

Buy a local gardening book, especially if you have difficult conditions. If you try to grow things that aren't suited to your environment, you have to do a lot of extra work.

I've just got my Nexus One and it is goooood. I'd love to make a TT app for Android. It'll have to come after Forums & Groups on the priority list. It works pretty well on Android Browser at the mo, though I know the layout could be better and there's the odd javascript issue (issues with Android). Its a bit easier to make an Android app than an iPhone one (I've got a basic shell of one that reads the site RSS going) but it still takes a LOT of effort and is expensive to get a freelancer to do. If anyone wants to volunteer to make one I can give them the iPhone app details to copy and give them lots of support. Blackberry...any chance you are going to change to an iphone/android soon? :-p

@finalarena: Won't change to an iPhone until they leave AT&T. Might have a droid in my future. Not sick of my BB yet.

@finalarena: I suppose this isn't something I can do since I have no idea how to program anything. Perhaps someone else will develop this soon!

@thebradymachine: mobile apps are quite hardcore nerdy yes. It took quite a while to develop our iPhone one...

How do you crack open an iPod when you don't have one of those little plastic tools? My hub's iPod is "white screen of death" stricken. We tried everything system-wise, need to see if the display cable's knocked out.

I was able to use a paring knife to get into my third generation iPod (the square deck of cards version).

This is an iPod classic video 160GB. Not sure how much difference there is in casing. Don't want to destroy the case too much.

Mine is at the office or I'd take a look at it. I didn't damage the case too much; that's why something longish like a knife is good to slip in between the halves to jimmy it apart. Oh—I used the blade the long way, not the pointed tip.

Are cookies off? Macs act a bit funky with Java if thats what this uses. Try a different browser? I'm not sure.

@leopicado - hmmm...its odd. What happens when you try? What do you see? Any error messages? Try making sure the filename of the picture is simple (TT has to disallow "dangerous" filenames).

@leopicado - Ah, I've just seen your Q below "Why can't I log into this website" - It does sound like you have cookies turned off or blocked from this website somehow.

Yes, TT became goofy in Safari a few days ago. I can still comment using Safari, but I've been using Firefox to make submissions. Also in Safari, it doesn't show you the former verification that you are logged in, yet you are. Except for making submissions.

Bugger! Well...that's all my spare time gone then ;-) It might take some time to figure this one out - we did update Rails (the framework this site uses) the other day but there are no errors in the logs etc.
Can anyone having login trouble please try the following page I just created and let me know the outcome?
http://tweaktoday.com/cookie_test
...and can you try clearing the cookies in your browser and trying again? It may be that you have old cookies (remember me type thing) from a long time ago that are somehow causing problems with the new version of Rails.

@admin: i just tested the cookie thing in Safari and it's fine but I can't log in. I've been fine in Firefox. Had a problem with Flickr a couple of days ago. I'm using OSX Tiger. Not sure if that'll make a difference. Will be happy to test on other machines if you want.

@rabbitdan: thanks. I've narrowed it down a bit and it seems to be very browser specific. I've finally managed to get a test machine up and running that has the same problem so hopefully I can begin to solve it. From looking at the Rails development stie it looks like quite a few people are experiencing similar issues on other sites that use Rails.

@admin: test page says cookies okay. Cleared all TT cookies and tried again, test page says cookies okay but still having broken experience. G4/OSX10.5.8/Safari4.0.4 and also on Intel/OSX10.6.2/Safari4.0.4. Also cleared my cache which made no difference.
