Heights and a little claustrophobic. The bravest thing I ever did (as far as conquering my phobias) is crossing a wood and rope suspension bridge in Vancouver. I was shaking for an hour after I got done. http://www.findfamilyfun.com/lynncanyon.htm

i'm not fond of them, having been around them growing up (my grandparents had a horse boarding business). they're big, their mouths are huge and they stink.

Horses (as long as they are tame) are just big dogs... Just very Big dogs, but they have the same cognitive awareness and are suspicious of strangers... If you mean to be their friend, give them a puff of your breath (seriously) blow into their nose, offer them your hand (to the side cuz they can't see you striaght on) and best to offer your open, flat hand with a treat (carrot, sugar cube, whatever) NOTE: do not try to feed a treat to a horse with your fingers, they might git crunched *aka: open, flat hand, with the treat in your palm* ... lol (not that you'll be needing this info any time soon!) ;D
Birds... awwww... u just never met the right one. I have owned parrots who people were afraid of because they'd never been around one who was nice. People have a responsibility to socialize their pets, parrots included... and I guarantee you, my kids would (have) and would bowl you over with their sweetness. Nothin' to be afraid of (except the occasional poop on yer shoulder because they want to claim you as their territory!) lol!!!
Lizards... a roommate of mine had one that was real friendly (but he was only about a foot long) and he liked to swat ya with his tail... so maybe he wasn't that friendly afterall... but he was cute and strangely had a personality! I was afraid of him but he was tiny... bigger ones, yes, I admit, I'd be intimidated!
*Hugs*

and this is the biggest one: anaisthanochronophobia - fear of not being able to perceive time. I HAVE to know what time it is constantly or I have a panic attack. I have clocks in every room, including the bathrooms, and always have my phone with me just for the clock. Funny thing is, I hate wearing a watch.

I thought of another one: Due to an experience I had at the old Yankee Stadium, I no longer take escalators in large crowd situations such as you find at sports venues if I can help it. If I do have to get on, I leave an abnormal amount of space between me and the party ahead of me, because people have this tendency to just stop where they step off at the end of the ride while they ponder what direction to go next. This caused me to get half-crushed at Yankee Stadium. If it's just at the mall or some other public building, no problem.

I have claustrophobia and enochlophobia. I also do not like to walk along the edges of bodies of water as I have this odd rhythm disorder that causes me to sway with the motion of the water, it also causes to limp when I see other people limping. I never sit with my back to a door, and when in a crowded places, I always determine what three people I'll need to take out first if some ish goes down.

my husband also has enochlophobia, so i do a lot of things with the kids by myself because he just can't handle it (fairs, parades, xmas shopping...) he also has social anxiety and doesn't like to talk to people he isn't already comfortable with, which puts a damper on our social life!

Losing my keys has turned me into always being afraid I don't have them. So to cope, I am constantly checking to make sure I have them, so much so that they are always in my hands and never make it to my purse.
Come to think of it, this probably started when I lost my keys for a car rental.

Spiders, heights, crowds, computer breaking, deep water. I'm also afraid of the dark. I'm 28. >.< The thing is I can trace most of these fears back to a traumatizing event. Except spiders. I have no idea why I've been terrified of them my whole life. It makes no sense like psychologically.

Public Speaking
“According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than doing the eulogy.” - SeinfeldDec 16, 2010 03:00 by kreestar from iphone-
