I think the pair of Nike Air boots in the middle are the actual oldest, but my ratty Birkenstocks and Nike trainers are also quite old.

I got these combat boot, as a gift, for my 14th birthday. I am 31 now. I still wear these a couple of times a year.

Nice ones! I bought a pair aswell in Amsterdam at the market. Same 'drop' shape. But now I feel them too much uncomfortable =P

This is the second time these have been up here. Last time I didn't have a real camera. When I was about 16 I went into Marshall's and took off my ratty Reebok's, put them on the shelf, put the brand new chucks on and walked out. That was ten years ago. I've changed the laces many times.

@miss_anthrope: I always think of that Edgar Allen Poe story, I think it is him, and this letter crucial to solving a crime or something is hidden from the cops in a frame in the middle of the room. It reminds me of that.

My college doc martens and platform sandals date to roughly 1997, and they are some superbly durable shoes! I still wear both regularly but can't remember which I got first. I think I got the slippers some time in the vicinity of 1990, but they were ignored in my closet until about a year and a half ago, so while they are the oldest, they're in the best shape.

i live in a country where the biggest size you can buy in a regular shoe/sports shop is two sizes smaller than mine.
people laugh at my feet .

I loved these shoes to death. I still occasionally waar them but unfortunately, the bottoms have worn pretty thin due to me dragging them on the ground during my summer scooter rides (Only when coming to a stop).

Arrrgh.... This mission is so mis-timed for me. I just threw out my oldest shoes. They were a pair of deerskin brogues my wife bought me in Paris in 1987.
I only stopped wearing them a couple of weeks ago and they were the best shoes I'd ever had! After 22 years of re-soling and re-heeling the deerskin started to fail. Such a comfy pair of shoes... will need to search for my new oldest shoes.Feb 03, 2010 03:49 by demander -
