No I'm not that old. I saw this movie when I was about 5. It's just got a bunch of goofy lyrics, and every kid loves those.

Upon further dwelling, I do remember liking this song. We had the chipmunks' record when i was super tiny. I was a little ticked when my sister dropped and broke it. Imagine my surprise when I realized that the Michael Jackson did not steal the song from the Chipmunks.

When I was 6, I had this oldies tape that I completely wore out. My favorite song was this one. I'm sure I had regular kids songs that I loved but this one seemed to stick with me. Today was the first time I've listened to it in years and I still seem to like it!

This was my first favorite song as far as I can remember. I'm sure I liked other songs before then a lot, but this one I had yearned to hear and always begged dad to put on "el shaddai". Thing was he didn't have a tape, he'd just put the radio on and it somehow was always playing when I wanted to hear it. Maybe it was over-played back in 84-85 (when I was 4-5), or maybe God was being nice to me :) - I don't really like nor know any other Amy Grant songs.

That's interesting. When I liked the song, I didn't even realize there were people who didn't believe in God. I remember my parents telling me and feeling like I already knew. One day when I was older I asked Dad was El Shaddai meant (I remembered those words but not many of the lyrics anymore until I heard it again as an adult). He said it was about God. :)

I remember really liking this (hey, I was a kid), couldn't say for sure if it was the very first favorite. Pretty much anything on the 70's charts could have been a favorite because I like so many of those songs now. I was definitely born in the wrong era.

My dad was into the Kingston Trio when I was a kid and this is one of my favs. It's about a guy named Charlie who was riding the subway in Boston Massachusetts. While he was riding they raised the fare. He didn't have the money so he was stuck riding the train forever. The funny thing is, when I went to Boston a few years ago, the subway card's called a "Charlie" card. That made me smile big.

Turns out this beat Prince's Purple Rain by about a year or two. To this day, I cannot turn off a radio, tv, or site while it is playing Goodnight Saigon. The lyrics are awesome, the original video (especially at the time) made it even more chilling.
On a slightly lighter note. At the same time this was one of the first favorite Dutch songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXWdQGtl6qs :)

*this isn't the video i saw... the original video i saw was almost the same as this only people were taking out their equipments one by one. if anyone here can point me the video, i would be really happy.
