  well it's a memorial tattoo. The character is called hatman. My brother died in 2002 in a head-on collision. He worked for viacom new media back in 1995, and being the goofy workers that work for a game company, they all liked teasing the CEO of the company. Someone sketched up something that looked like a husky man with a top hat and a cane, and that was the "symbol" of the CEO. But they took it one step further, they started "hiding" this character in all the games they released. One of the easier ones to find is in "beavis and butthead - virtual stupidity" which is a game like kings quest. There's 3 very large aiff files, but they're actually .avi files renamed as aiff. If you copy these files off the CD and rename them, you'll discover 3 hidden videos. This is one of them:

  So when the video game division of viacom went bankrupt, my brother kept it alive by registering a domain, and making that the central point where all the co-workers could stay in touch, he'd lend webspace to friends, goof around, etc. The logo got updated into something more 3d.. Even after he died, his friends continue to maintain the domain, along with all the email addresses. Several times the domain has been contacted by people who want to buy the domain (people selling hats of course because it's a nice short URL), but they won't sell it.
  
  So basically hatman is his calling card, a symbol that shows he's still remembered.

Sorry, again with the horrible pictures. I need a camera! This is my one and only tattoo. It's a tree that grows out of my toes and up my ankle. The inscription above says 'let it be'. The next one (if I ever have money again) will be 'so it goes' in ode to Kurt Vonnegut :)

  wife got a flipflop strap tattooed on the top of her foot. she has 13 (none of which bothered her), but on top of the foot sure did. I don't envy the pain you went through to get that.
