People who insist on doing 80km/h or slower on 100km/h freeways bug me.
People who insist on doing it in the fast lane piss me off.
When there's a crowd of them and I'm stuck like @superc0w below I lose it.Aug 25, 2010 00:55 by sclark -

Here in CA, where it's legal to make a right turn on red, I HATE, HATE, HATE when the person at the red light (who intends on continuing straight) isn't moved completely to the left of his lane. Leave space, please, for the people behind you not required to wait at the light.
And for the people who don't make the right hand turn because they don't think their car(s) will fit (when clearly they will), KNOW THE DIMENSIONS OF YOUR VEHICLE.

I was going to come back and add this one. I'm pretty sure the whole situation is a conspiracy to drive us all completely insane.

There's a joke in WA state that we're not even trained how to use our horns. I can't say I've ever missed it :)

You're totally right. I've gotta say though, I don't like it when people use the turn signal as an excuse to cut you off either. Just because you signal doesn't mean you've got free reign to go the way you're signaling.

@kellydna We drive on the left but on the motorway our fast lane is always on the left and the slow lane on the right.

can't stand this either... the worst however is when two cars are driving the exact same speed right next to each other.

@jackcomrie You're in the UK, right? The fast lane is the right lane or I've been doing it wrong for quite some time!

The drivers in Oregon/Portland are pretty civil. Of course, there are the drunk drivers, people who get into accidents due to carelessness, etc. But on a normal day, I do not experience drivers such as these, and almost all are good drivers. They let you in if you’re merging, they don’t usually run red lights, they stop for pedestrians at crosswalks, etc.
So.
- It is a given that in any general location, there are some good drivers and some bad drivers
- I perceive that the drivers around me are good drivers
- This suggests that I am one of the asshole drivers, instigating pet peeves in my wake :\Aug 24, 2010 15:23 by athanie -

I got overtaken by an Ice Cream Van the other day. I was doing 30 in a 30mph limit, so he was speeding. How does that sit with all the parents that let their kids go out to get an ice cream?

60 km/h in a 50.
85 km/h in a 70.lol

But I do go the speed limit in school zones which is 30km/h and I DO slow down when I see kids around. Like way down. Because I know how pissed I'd be if I saw some dick speed around my kids. I even get mad when people do it around other kids!

It really wound me up! Especially when there were people smoking regular cigarettes and blaring club music out of their phones too! I've been away for a year and am moving back next month, I can't imagine it's changed.

Outside: people (pedestrians, bikers, drivers) who don't look where they are going and who just change lanes/direction. Yes, even if you walk, I may be coming up behind you, trying to pass, so pay attention.
Inside/commuting: people on a train or bus who insist on discussing personal problems, especially when said discussion is taking place by cell phone. Sometimes it takes a lot of willpower not to butt into the conversation :)Aug 24, 2010 10:56 by chaomancer -

When a person cuts you off and then goes slow when there's absolutely nobody behind you. They should have an awards night for that here, everyone's just so awesome at it :)

Cool picture. Funny when you ask someone on a bike what annoys them, it is often car drivers. But if you ask them when they are driving their car, it is bikers.

Commuters who walk towards you whilst looking behind them, then get annoyed when they bump into you. I adopt a policy of deliberately shouldering them now, just to teach them a lesson.

I think there was an "ask marilyn" about this. I think she decided that the reason people do that is because if they have you thinking that they don't notice you, it's okay for them to be rude "unintentionally".

It might be a tie between people who don't use their blinkers (how hard is this really?) and people who merge onto the freeway and refuse to look over, its like they are choosing to get into an accident and they refuse to look over to see that I may just hit them after a bad day! This boggles my mind, they look straight ahead and just cross their fingers and I want to scream at them. Maybe I do, who knows.

Too many speed (like 40+ over the limit, that's a bit much), tailgate, cut too close when changing lanes, forget there are laws, and other drivers (hundreds! not JUST the person directly in front of them) on the road. I know we have to drive defensively but getting to/from from work shouldn't feel like going into battle every single day. So basically my biggest peeve is that some drivers are total @$$h0l3s!!!!

- people here do not look and will just walk in front of your car. this makes me want to hit them all
-people will stop on the road and chit chat with someone else... and they do not stop when you pull behind them they will just finish the conversation.Aug 24, 2010 05:37 by rragsbag -

In most cases it's ignorance that annoys me.. I get most places by foot, and am mostly annoyed by people who walk directly at me pretending not to notice me and expecting me to move out of their way ... Grr... Oh and taxis! If I'm on foot, I'm a potential customer! Please stop trying to kill me!
