examples- my phone (a mytouch) is named Pandora<3
my ipod (an itouch) is named Kitty:D

The only things I name are my hard drives and iPods, and I name them after my pets, and this is only because "Macintosh HD" is so non-descriptive. Robbin is my rabbit, CJ and Dasie are the cats. My iPod is Daisy, after a previous, short-lived rabbit. I haven't named either of my iPhones.

I was in an IRC chat room talking about my DeVilbiss oxygen concentrator and how it sounds like it's breathing and is like a constant companion (the annoying kind, hah). Someone said I should name it. I said "what would I name it?" he suggested "O'Henry", so I accepted and named him O'Henry. I don't need the oxygen concentrator anymore since changing my diet off of processed foods (long story), so he just sits there being quiet.

i usually call everything "baby ", so i have my baby computer, my baby BB , my babies new shoes , my baby tablet.... so when i say "can you lend me my baby nobody knows what am i talking about XD", i think my favourite baby this days is my camera...

I used to name things all the time. I've named both my computer, laptop cell phones etc (Lappy Precious, Compy (both after Strong Bad), Celly Bling Bling, etc) Here is my iPod touch who's name is Little Baby Compy

I don't think I actually ever named any object, just accounts and game characters. (I know, I know, it's my mission) I do call my computer names though. Different ones. Frequently.

bought two of these servers last week. The first one went in on Friday and is called "Carthage." I'm torn between "Nubia", "Kush", "Pompeii" or "Atlantis" for its sister. Naming a server is serious business.

@chaomancer: these things become your children; if they are unwell, you don't sleep, and if they misbehave then it annoys a lot of people. Giving them a name, and forming the relationship between the machines you have stewardship of is a very important step in accepting that no matter how late the night, or how much money it costs, if they break, you have to fix them. Your job and livelihood depend on it. Srs bsns.
