Mission 04/15/09: Record video of your commute. Compress to 30 seconds. It would be exactly the same only with considerably longer hair, and almost exactly two years ago.

What is a band or album that does not fit your typical taste(s) of music but you love? Post a picture or song.:

Sept. 03, 2009: "Show us the most embarrassing CD in your collection."
This time around, I'll post Wrong Side of Memphis, by Johnny Dowd. Bought while in a severely depressed state of mind, it seemed good when I listened to it at the record store (for those of you too young to remember: there once was a time when people would visit actual physical stores and listen to audio cd's there). That qualification of "good" probably lasted until halfway through the second listening, at home. It currently sits in my collection for those emergency times when I have to scare away visitors that have outstayed their welcome. Just owning it seems to be enough of a deterrent, because I rarely get any visitors ;)Apr 12, 2011 08:51 by chaomancer -

I would not recommend mountaineering while drunk, so I am kind of baffled by this slogan.

That's funny. Really though, the reason it is called Mountaineer is because I live in West Virginia and our college mascot is a Mountaineer. He used to carry a jug of moonshine and a musket. LOL.

http://www.tweaktoday.com/users/kellydna/submissions/7368Then, and now. The green Corona whistle bottle opener has been replaced by a more stylish Odell bottle opener. Odell is a brand I actually drink, unlike Corona. Oberon stays proudly on my small set.

That's neat, you can see how they all aged from then and now. Some differences (besides the obvious one).

October 21st, 2009: Share something you're proud of (http://tweaktoday.com/missions_accomplished/2009/10/21) This time it's a someONE instead of someTHING. I'm proud of my sister, who has battled being bipolar, among other things, for the last 30 years. She does not let it hold her back, she finally finished her degree in social work, and is now being true to herself and has finally "come out" to the family. She has become an amazing woman and I'm very proud to call her my sister.

May 12, 2009 - We were instructed to post a picture with the contents of our refrigerators. If my freezer counts, I propose this video I made a few days ago showing not just the contents, but the preparation as well! (Warning, NSFW Language in the audio track)

My second ever post was July 26, 2009, "Take a picture of something you didn't think you needed until you had it."
Was a tough choice between the bread maker or the Senseo. Coffee trumps bread though. With the right method and the right pods (or even just making sure you get every last drop of goodness), this makes a good cup. I want to try the Keurig though. Waiting waiting for the prices to drop. (photo is a repeated one too, sorry about that, it's one of the better shots though)

Oh yeah, coffee certainly trumps bread. I'm all curious about the Keurig now, although those cups always look so big, like they'd require way more storage room than Senseo pods.

I've had 2 keurigs, both got clogged (common problem). Curious how long yours has been running? I've had the cuisinart version of the keurig for nearly a year and no issues yet (knock on wood)

I don't have a Keurig yet (if that's what you're asking about). I've had my Senseo for almost 3 years. Only run it on the weekends. It's clogged a time or two when I've used eco pods (or similar, your own coffee not prepackaged pods) but we managed to clear the grounds and it's still working nicely.

yea I meant your senseo. Seems like it's less likely to clog because the beans are in a sealed mesh bag, not puncturing through a plastic container and clogging up the needle where the water comes out. My cuisinart is less likely to clog on the water end because it comes with a filter, so even if particulates manage to get in, it gets filtered out before it can find it's way through the tubing.

I didn't get what the big deal was about this either. Didn't hate it but didn't like it at all and I don't need to see the sequel.

@stephie: I remember when we saw it and both wondered what the big deal was about. Still stumped about that to this day. I'd probably watch the sequel though, some day for free on tv or something.

I'll be a purist and say I liked the 1st one better than the sequel. not a big superhero movie fan, but I really liked this one. Everything from designing virtual models in 3d CAD to the raw 1st prototype he built to escape. I also like the notion of running the company for what is good, not profitable. Wish more companies were run that way.

Mine was "what movie could you watch over and over"
http://tweaktoday.com/missions_accomplished/2009/7/27
Another one I could watch over and over is groundhog day (which ironically was filmed about 5 miles from where I live in woodstock, IL)Apr 12, 2011 03:51 by toyotaboy-

Way back in April 2009 I completed by second ever mission "Take a picture of something you know you should throw out, but haven't yet." I'm not only re-doing this, but I'm also sorry to say that it's all still there.. a veritable museum of old Macs from the Macintosh II and SE30 all the way up to the 9-tonne eMac.

@kellydna: Alas it is a quicksilver G4, but it is an 867Mhz. One of only three left that work! I pillaged its RAM a few years ago, but the hard drives are still there. Sounds like a jet engine when you turn it on.
