What was your first car?

My 1st car in 1983 was a periwinkle blue AMC Gremlin. My on-line search showed most with stripes...I didn't have that feature. I am unsure of what model-year it was, but it looked just like this one. I never sat in the back, however.

It was a '94 Honda Civic hatchback. It looked like this minus the carnage and the young lad in the corner. Young lads were always positioned in the back seat.

One of my favorites.. My first new car was a 96 civic (first changeover to new body style). I was actually kind of bummed when I couldn't buy this generation because I loved the hatchback so much (ended up buying a sedan because I didn't like the look of the new hatchback). I currently drive a scion XD, so I finally got the hatchback I always wanted.

One of these beauties, '72 AMC Gremlin in periwinkle. I guess the color is actually called Maxi Blue. And no, that's not me.

quite possibly the ugliest car ever made.. Though I did dig the AMC eagle (like a beefy wagon)

88 chevy corsica. Dad bought it for me at 60k miles for about $5k (4 years old). Drove it another 40k miles for 4 years, had a wire harness go bad, had horrible rust in the trunk and door sills, and then the head gasket detoriated which caused it to stall during startup. Pretty crappy GM product

1991 Subaru Justy named Judy. She was white, manual transmition and could hit 100mph easily with a nice tail wind (with me in it the whole thing probably weighed 200lbs). Took me to and from NorCal to SoCal hundreds of times. Anyway, my younger brother killed her when he crashed head on into a van. Very, very sad day (my bro was fine aside from the steering wheel that pounded his chest and busted his liver and spleen).

2003 Geo Tracker. I had it for 3 weeks until one morning of March I slipped on ice, went off the road and rolled over...

Idk I'm on my phone I don't know how to turn it. This car set on fire in the middle of the road. That was its demise. I had to keep a foot on gas and brake or it would stall. 1980 dodge Aries.

Crystal beige, with louvers (similar to the car in front, not the weird one w/the truck bed). I still miss this car. I knew by the sound when something was wrong, something I can't manage these days. Miss you gizmo!

Mine was a piece of junk 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle. I had a love hate relationship with that car. It had constant problems, blew up three engines, the wiring harness caught fire, lots of other bad stuff happened. I pushed that car as much as I drove it. I swear it made me listen to 50-60s era oldies on the radio all the time. Every time I changed the station something else would break. The picture isn't a pic of my car, it looks like it's in a little better shape, but it is the same model, year, and color.

Had a '74 Volvo that the injectors would flood the engine if the ashtray got dirty. It also spit gas out of the tank when you filled it.

A 1960 T-Bird I picked up in 1969 for $75. It was battleship grey and needed a pair of pliers to open the hood. Got about 8 miles per gallon. Liked to slip in reverse when parked with the engine running.

@leopicado: You could always tell the model and year until about 1967 or so. After that, they're all a blur.

An '89 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a "rebuilt" engine. That thing broke down all over the place. The side mirrors even fell off once while I was driving :)
