not really, my father does, coins, and lately i have been collecting his gift.... has been fun, just one more, but i can´t find it!

I used to collect pencils, but after starting college I started using one, two, three... Now I have a few pencils left, but I wouldn't consider them a collection.

I collect a bunch of things. I collect tessellation art done by kids (on my website), foil from yogurt cups etc. to "bulk up" plasticine sculptures, recycled plastic bottles for holding pens and loose change, and stuff like that.

Wow. Why? Are these cameras that you bought every time a sginificant improvement came out, and you just never threw one away? Or do you collect old cameras that don't get used?

@sethness: i just love using film cameras i guess, the way film looks and the science behind developing it facinates me. i feel like real photo taken on a piece of film is a whole lot better than a digital file on a computer screen. i use them all at varying intervals and i love that its not instant, so your more careful before shooting stuff. sorry long ramble

I am more of a hoarder than a collector. I dont set out to get these things, but for some reason i can't give up my theatre Playbills or the race bibs that i get for participating in races.

Yeowch. I hope you have a big home to store all that. I'm housesitting for a couple like that: every horizontal surface is covered with a decade's worth of old magazines.

I seem to collect magnets and books. Used to be key chains but I had too many and it's not like I could keep them all on one chain (did so years ago but it was a bit much). I like the magnets because they're usable and remind me of either places I've been (obviously) or places other people have gone without me (tsk). And the books, well, they're "collected" for future reading or rereading. Just wish I had a better way of storing them.

Back in the days, I used to collect Magic cards. I actually tried to complete the entire set(s) that came out. But I quickly learned that, even back then, it would be way too expensive and damn near impossible to keep collecting. So I gave up. Since I haven't bought any cards in years, I guess this is no longer a true collecting hobby, but I still hold on to the old cards, and occasionally use them in games with friends. Other than that (and money), I don't really see myself as a collector.

@stephie: Yes, it is actually taken very seriously. I have developed a skill where they slip into my magazine in the seat pocket. My newest edition is the Q400 Dash 8 one, acquired that today.
