No moving mouth, but she can certainly be a puppet if I wish, right? I made her when I read the mission today. I already had the two cardboard boxes I made with scrap cardboard sheets that came with my hubbys books, the arms and legs are cut from paper grocery bag handles, and the eyes are bottle caps of course, the heart on the chest is "chinese marker". I was going to make a paper lunch bag puppet instead so as to obey the rules a bit better, but I like ms robot too much. :)

So, Sockins' life-partner is taking a spin in the dryer, or on an expedition into the great unknown, eh.
At first I thought the heel of the sock looked a little too prominent, but it looks like a dorsal fin on a dolphin or a dimetrodon so it's quite fitting. Those big oreo-cookie eyes, though...! Sockins must be from a species with great night vision. *chortle*Aug 19, 2011 19:49 by sethness. -

@sethness: I made him for a previous mission. If you go to my youtube page you will see that it ensued into several episodes.

Ingredients: One large housepainting brush, Elmer's glue hair mousse, Super Sculpey 2 plastic clay, and a little diluted acrylic paint for the teeth and gums. OK, so plastic clay is a little outside the norm for household materials, but dang it, not in MY house. I always have a 2-pound brick in my fridge. Anyway, I'm quite pleased at how the face turned out.

This brings to mind one of the best gifts I ever got. My grandparents signed me up for some kind of "brick a month" club, in which 1 box of kitchen-oven-bakeable white paint-able clay got delivered by post office to my house...well...every month. Great gift for a kid-- it kept me busy when it came, and kept me planning when I waited for next month's box. I wonder if anyone still sells that.
