I guess I'm passionate about doing things properly. Doesn't matter what it is ... it's got to be done right. Not in some stressed out, beat yourself up kinda way. Like if it's cooking ... think about the ingredients and use good ones. now what I mean?

Two things: Liberalism in politics, and a combination of Skepticism and objectivity as the best method in epistemology.
It tears my heart out to see rich folks spinning moronic tales (Bush, Ashcroft, Powell, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Rupert Murdoch) and somehow getting people to believe in'em, thus eviscerating the middle and lower classes' economic mobility, economic security, rights, and disposable income... while handing off more and more tax breaks to the rich and an obscene amount of our national budget to WARS and prisons.
For the life of me, I can't understand why Bush and his bush league bastards aren't in jail and mocked every day in Washington.Aug 05, 2011 02:03 by sethness -

That is true. There is a homeless gent in my town that I have seen for many years with his German Sheppard.

@toyotaboy ...except a cat's love. Well... the RIGHT cat.
@leopicado I understand what you really mean, but superficially if you think dogs don't have a voice then please stay at my house on any night of the week when the dog wants to go out (or in) at 3AM. He's got Pavarotti's voice, that one has... combined with an 18-wheeler's aooooga horn. ;-)Aug 05, 2011 01:48 by sethness. -

I know dogs can be loud, but they can't have a full conversation to defend themselves.

You say it's a painting, but those letters look glued on. Are they? Where do you get ready-made letters like that, or didja have to make'em with a board and a bandsaw?

Difficult one. I'll say 'fantasy', the literary/gaming/movie genre. I have a weak spot for story lines containing medieval like settings and magic. (Note to admin: it seems youtube's shorter URL you.tube is not recognized as a valid video URL)

How long does the beer last (eh, yeah, I mean, as far as expiration date goes, I can imagine it won't last long once you're in the mood for it), can't you stock up for the rest of the year during summer?

I was going to say nothing, because I consider reading a necessity as a distraction from thinking about other things, but I guess it could be considered a passion too.
(thanks to @glozboy for the reminder that it counts as a passion too)

Reading is certainly a passion and something to be passionate about. I wish I still had the same passion as before. Or rather, I wish I would do something with that passion, instead of cheating on books with video games and movies.

When the page first loaded I thought that was a brownie... Everything you say about books is true and powerful, but now all I want is a brownie.

It's not just the writers that have been burned for their content, the books as well. The horror!

I agree with all you've said, right down to the feel and smell of them. I've loved the smell of books ever since my parents instituted the "buy 2 books to read during our vacation" rule for us kids, one summer. After a few summer vacations, the mere smell of books made me feel relaxed and introspective, just like taking a 2-week vacation. 8^)
