I forget what year it was but it was during a World Series game in Oakland. I was not at the game because I could care less about the whole ordeal, but I was laying in my bedroom at my aunts house and the bed along with me in it, and several pieces of large furniture just kind of made our way around the room as if we were on some gigantic Lazy Susan

When I was in Japan about 15 years ago I was woken up during the night by the earthquake sirens. I was on something like the 14th floor of a hotel in Yokohama and the hotel was swaying. Was a weird feeling, but I didn't feel unsafe - probably because I was still half asleep. I don't know how big the quake was, but I'll not forget the feeling.

I've experienced plenty. Now they've got to be pretty big (over 4.4) for me to notice them. Loma Prieta 1989 was the "big" one I felt. My dad had just made me flip from "Gimme a Break" to the World Series and I was pissed. Almost as soon as I changed, the picture went out. I was sitting by a number of windows and my mom and dad were on a couch which happened to have a couple of pictures hanging over it. I picked up the 2yo girl my mom was babysitting, threw her on the couch with my parents and then held the two pictures in place until the jolt stopped. All school was cancelled for the rest of the week and the amusement park I worked at was closed that weekend. No damage to the house and only one thing fell. The most memorable thing about it was that it was LOUD.

Many years ago there was a minor earthquake that I could kind of feel, but even that was just the slightest vibration. We're pretty safe. Although lately there has been some talk about fracking coming closer to home, and it seems that could change things.

I also live in NE USA. I remember that "earthquake". I think I was sleeping when it happened, but it was the talk of the town for some reason.

Not typical for the northeast (USA) but last year we experienced a "little shift"/aftershock when D.C. had a small quake. We didn't know what it was at the time, and thought the building (at work) was going to come down on us. A lot of people didn't even feel it. I did, a distinct feeling of going sideways, thought I was about to pass out or something. Very strange, disorienting feeling. Then I started worrying if my house was ok, and what would happen to it, and us, if that "little shift" was something a lot worse.

There are no earthquakes where I live, but I'll visit the Turkey and maybe experience an earthquake there... I'm really curious about it.
