What are all your pets' names and why did you name them that?

Cats: Jonah (because I liked the name) and Gizmo (because he sounds like mogwai). Turtles: Squirtle and Gamara. Kind of obvious. Hamster: Peppermint. I've named almost all the hams after herbs and spices.

We had a fish named Larry after Larry the cucumber from Veggie Tales. Now we have a cat named Mojo but there's no special story there. He came that way

My first pet that was MINE, and not the family pet, was an orange and white hamster named Mojo. He died shortly after getting him, 1 week. I tried though. Then I got salix, the siberian dwarf, she died after having offspring and the one surviving one (fought through the illness) made it and was my pet until he died at an old age. Good times. All 3 of those hamsters were within the same year, and then the survivor (Rom) died a year after that.I want a parakeet, but I hear they're bad for the lungs, plus, I'm sure it'd disturb the house members.

This is my cat Dicey, because she is a mean cat but has "issues". Her real name is Dice because we are lucky to have her and I had a dog that died two months after we adopted her and I wanted to name him Dice. I haven't had a pet in forever. I used to have pet hamsters as a kid, but I cannot remember their names.

When I first got my girl cat, I called her Frejah but my boyfriend at the time nicknamed her Stripey (because she is a tabby with lots of stripes) and so everyone thought that was her real name and so that's what she gets called! My boy kitten is called Elvis because when I got him, he had two tufts of white fur sticking out of his ears that looked like sideburns!

Currently petless. This is "Sneakers" (1984-2004). Where she got the name, I don't recall. She was the only cat I've had that would "fetch" . A friend's young boy had trouble remembering the name sneakers and constantly referred to her as "Tennis Shoes"... close enough, I guess.

We'd been watching /a lot/ of voyager.. And when we got our fish, he had some cool markings on his face.. The markings have gone now, but I like to think he still enjoys a vision-quest now and then...
