I had a hard time thinking of anything. But then I remembered how we used to take bike rides when I was a kid and we sometimes stopped at these religious locations people would go to on pilgrimage. We'd light candles for those we cared about. This was waaaay back. Not exactly a "fun" type of attraction, but still something special.

Located in Kutztown, PA, about midway between Allentown and Reading, The Crystal Cave was truly a memorable experience. My wife and I were the only visitors that morning, and were escorted by a little person with a hunchback. When he pointed to the entrance and said "Please, walk this way"... I lost it. We were shown rock formations such as the somewhat familiar "ice cream cone" as displayed in the photo, along with formations that supposedly looked like Disney characters and ever more complex "visions.". None looked anything like the description our little friend was giving. We assumed he was on mushrooms, or something...

He probably grew the mushrooms somewhere in there.

The Desert of Maine. Located in Freeport, ME, it is purported to once be a farm that was poorly farmed and uncovered glacial silt once the topsoil was eroded. It looks like a giant sand trap that has pieces of broken farm items strewn about, with signs like "There is a house buried here"... with arrows pointing to piles of sand. A makeshift gift shop abounds with Desert of Maine snow globes, ashtrays and such. It was good for a laugh, anyway.

The only road side attractions I can think of are "scenic view" hwy rest stops and small veggie stands. There's one veggie/fruit stand near the beach I've stopped at a few times but only because we wanted veggies and the grocery stores were too far away.
