@rabbitdan: this morning around 7:30 (I'm doing a project where I'm taking a picture of the same place, at the same time, almost every day. Have been doing it at this spot for more than a year). In real life the colors were all a bluish gray, though.

I thought this book was interesting--the main character in this book is so repulsive (but in a good way, I think). Did you see the movie/did you like it?

@merendis: When I read The Fountainhead, it was entertaining on the surface, but it's a completely different book when you start thinking about the thought processes and politics behind the characters. And she saturates her characters with her politics. Not my cup of tea, at least. Not to say that those things don't ring true for others, though.

@rabbitdan: I like that--it works well here since it's the beginning of the tower too. And also, pairing "return" with "begin" is a nice idea, much nicer than "end."

@rabbitdan: I WAS scared for the bottle at the top--wasn't the brightest idea to put that one at the top since it's glass. Whole thing was about 6 feet so I could reach the top w/o a scaffold.

@r34ct0r: I love Monterey because of the seals and otters you can see off of the shore--good stuff! Salinas and Castroville are good for the fresh produce and artichokes.

@notanotherskye: It's an interesting little town--I went to school there. Lots of surfers too. It was really nice being near the sea and the parks/camping there are great (lots of redwoods).

@kellydna: The cat was lazy and I'm not sure how she got up there in the first place (the feeder is about 5 feet off of the ground). As far as we know it was a one-time thing when the planets lined up in a row and thus enabled the cat to make the impressive vertical jump. Also, I agree on the body builder musculature, and it was indeed the concept that I like.

@rabbitdan: I think the cat WAS being perfectly innocent. Cats like being up high, and the bird feeder probably got sun at some point during the day, so the cat got in the habit of resting there.

@athanie: I am now tempted to arrange a special event in that spot at 7.30 one morning soon. I'll get a giant monkey, an alien and maybe a few other things to jump out of a car, perhaps, and hold signs saying, um, um, er.... I don't know. In fact that's what the signs will say 'Um, er.. um...'
