in england the equivalent company seems to do most of their business online or via directory enquiries. the books are still around but are less of a staple.

@rabbitdan: Yeah, I was thinking about it later and it occurred to me that not everybody uses the internet as much as I do. I could use just one for emergency numbers and the like--getting one every month is a bit much though.

Oy! Me too! Tons of them. I have like 10 of them elevating a lamp (hey, why not?). Good thing they're recyclable. I can't remember the last time I actually checked a phone *book* versus just looking online.
