I guess the question is a little different for me. I think I started mulling over the idea this past December and developed it through February when it launched. Coming from Minnesota, I've always liked having longer term projects to work on during the winter, and those have tended to be websites for the past decade or so.

@bill: Funnily enough it was a souvenir bottle of rum from the Caribbean that taught me two important life lessons: Never drink alcohol from a bottle with a hand written label, and never drink the mixed punch if you suspect said alcohol has gone into it.
(I would actually amend that to 'never drink the mixed punch.')

@noiselesspenguin: I agree with the first lesson totally. A friend brought me back a bottle of rum that was in what looked like a mayonnaise jar, and it was labeled "Rum", written with a permanent marker. Sweet Jeebus! To say it was potent, would be a great injustice.

:( There seems to be very little in Warsaw (and therefore all of Poland too, most likely) as well, so I feel the pain of Dulles patrons. Worst is that the internet gets my hopes up by listing Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Japanese and even INDIAN food as Chinese.
