I thought 'rolmops' would be a typically weird Dutch food, but according to Wikipedia it is prettty common in other countries as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollmops
The problem with most of what I eat, is that it may seem weird to a foreigner, but it is a quite normal meal to have in the Netherlands. So I'm sticking with two examples that seem slightly more 'personal':
- macaroni with sugar (for dessert)
- sandwich with cheese and apple butterOct 20, 2009 09:27 by chaomancer1 favorite3 comments

I want you to make that mac & sugar thing sometime. No plans to try 'rolmops' but I'm guessing you knew that.

Mac and cheese happy accident... made a home made recipe of it and accidentally made it with sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated milk... it was sweet and oh so tasty, so now we do it on purpose.

@stephie: deal. White macaroni works best, otherwise even I consider it rather strange.
