Things like iPads, Kindles and all that other crap will have been thrown away for making people stupid. Celebrity culture will have collapsed after reaching critical mass in the mid 21st century. Education and self-improvement will return with the advent of paper books, remembered by a select few who actually gave a shit about quality products.

This button has not worked on London Underground trains (the doors are automated now) for at least 5 years, yet every day I see commuting feverishly tapping it when the train pulls into the platform. I want to smack people who do this, very hard in the back of the head.

Similar here in Minneapolis. Our OPEN buttons do work, at times. The driver opens all doors automatically unless the temperature is below 10°F/-12°C, then passengers operate them manually. You can tell they're on manual because the ring of tiny green LEDs around the button is lit up. In warmer weather they are not lit up, yet people stand there pounding on them and think they've accomplished something when seconds later their actions are positively reinforced by the door having been opened by the driver.

When you press the button for the elevator and someone else comes along, they look at you and then press the button again, like you forgot to and you're just hanging around, waiting for them to come and press it for you. (Side note) The harder you press, the faster the elevator comes...

20 years ago, I was helping out a playschool my Mum used to work at and was taking things out to the storeroom at the back. I had a scooter in my hand and turned round to check where something else was and whacked a little boy in the head with the back wheel. He started crying and a carer came over to see what had happened.
I said "I didn't see anything, I think he fell over".
The kid wasn't old enough to talk yet so I got away with it.
If he's walking about now with a fear of wheels because of me, sorry!
