Aperol . . . its an amaro similar to Campari, but aperol is made from Rhubarb whereas campari is made from orange. Aperol is less bitter and lower in alcohol. Both are great on the rocks or with soda. Or try a negroni, one of my absolutely favorite cocktails.

You can get it at Williams-Sonoma,or just google it to find it cheaper. It's a finishing salt. For instance, you season the outside of a stead and cook it. Then when you slice it you drop a few flakes on the unseasoned parts to finish the dish with balanced flavor.

I too have been wanting to get this book! When I was in culinary school I lived in Yountville, exactly 1 mile away from his restaurant The French Laundry. Sadly, I was a starving college student, couldn't afford to eat at his restaurant. I need to go back there someday.

It's ceramic painted like a watermelon... outside green with stripes, inside red with black seeds and a handle. My wife is more than happy to get rid of it. I'm pretty sure my mom will be getting it soon. She hates it too...

I am an avid purger of things I don't use. Seriously every two months I give stuff away. I'm a weirdo that's not ok with clutter. But I do have a watermelon-bowl I got as a wedding gift in July. I'm just waiting for the best person to (re)give it to.

I dated this girl for three months. For Christmas her mom made me a scrap book of pictures from the girlfriends childhood, middle school, and high school. It also came with a really sweet, but rather over-the-top letter about her daughter and I. The intention was great but three months in is a bit early.
