zero. dark is the absence of light

Although there's no limit to the co-ordinate velocity of a shadow, I would probably say that C was quite a good approximation, or to be figuratively speaking, -C, therefore I agree with @merendis: excellent assertion above.
Bear in mind when calculating this, that the mathematical constant for the speed of light (C) is based on its speed in a vacuum. As the well known formula for mass-energy equivalence (E=mC^2) is based on light having a value in energy (although photons have no mass despite being susceptible to influence by gravity) you have to factor in the problem that darkness has no energy (it is, in fact the result of absence of any energy), so if you could for example take a cubed metre of Space, make it totally void of all particles and energy, then the darkness will spread as fast as the light is able to leave it, -C or -299,792,458 metres per second.

@a_noob: Sometimes, if I run really, really fast, my shadow lags behind just a bit... just sayin'

@merendis: I shall write that down in my notebook, thanks!

@semperjase: I've tried to open the refrigerator door really, really fast you know, before dark leaves... but to no avail. It must be pretty quick I'd guess.

I'd guess about 27mph. coastin' along nicely.
