Kevin Weldon AM is an Australian book publisher. He was born in Ingham in 1933 and educated at Brisbane Grammar School, Queensland.
Weldon's first job was as a journalist at Brisbane Truth before he moved into publishing where the ran the Australian operations of Hamlyn Books.
He later bought out Hamlyn Books and renamed it Weldon International which was involved in the publishing of Macquarie Dictionary, Don Bradman scrapbooks and A Day in the Life of Australia among other popular titles.Weldon has had a keen interest in surf lifesaving. He helped to start the International Life Saving Federation and was the founding the President of the ILSF.
He was the guest speaker at the Bond University graduation ceremony for post graduate students in February 2000 and gave an inspirational speech on philosophy of life called "Do it Any Way".Nov 16, 2009 08:27 by jwl
