I'm trying to remember that far back … When I was in the middle years of gradeschool, I know I plowed through all of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books in these yellow editions (I think it was blue for the Boys).

When I was smaller, I had a well-worn copy of this, too.

I want to see the movie but haven't yet. The trailer has that Arcade Fire song (which is well documented in its ability to make grownups cry like babies).

I have to say, I really wanted to love the movie, but it wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped. The kid is a brat, and it's hard to empathize with him. There are also some RANDOM extra characters (these two weird owls who have nothing to do with the plot). I'd give it only 2 stars.

Yeah... I've been hearing the same things. Was hoping they weren't true though.

my grandparents gave me a new nancy drew (yellow) and hardy boys (blue) every year for any gift giving occasion. I wish i'd hung on to those!
