In a way this kind of just happened over the weekend when my parents visited for the holidays. When they're here, I can't really use my computer because my mom is instantly hovering over my shoulder because she's "just curious" about what I'm doing or wanting me to look up something for her. Granted, I cheated somewhat with my iPhone, but I cooked a lot, cleaned up a lot, read the book they gave me for Christmas (Oxford Companion to Beer), watched tv, played cards, walked a few blocks to check out the construction progress on the new light rail line, napped, listened to my mom's endless commentary on every action that everyone is doing, ordered pizza, etc.

I can't figure out what this is—my first impression is of a slug crawling up a wall, but that doesn't match anything—so I'll say "Love Bites" because that's MY favorite :) But I'm sure that's not the answer.

I'd love to do this up properly but I'm just too busy today. Me being me, I envision it as a rabbit disappearing down a hole, or getting stuck in said hole. If I follow the rabbit theme through, I like "Scare Hare," but of course "Weak Tweak" is much catchier and apropos to the site.

Also, I don't chance that the cleaning people will pick my tea wrapper out of my desk waste basket, thereby saving the trash bag. I currently leave this receptacle empty and take my few items back to the kitchen garbage.

I didn't bowl as well as I did two weeks ago. I thought that had been the turning point. But last week sucked. Tonight I was back on form but got tapped for a lot of shit leaves. I was optimistic when I started with a 227 tonight, but then I had some 160-something crap, some other crap I don't remember because it was also crappy, but THEN I finished with a 266 for an 834 or so series for four games, which I'm perfectly fine with. I got pissed off and settled down to business!

Most recently, it was the story of this poor cat who was put outside and abandoned because his owners thought he was acting sick. The local humane organization is investigating. The outpouring of compassion by people who read about his story still chokes me up.
"We want to thank the hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of people who have generously donated toward Clark Kent’s care from places as far-flung as Australia, Germany, Ireland, France, Spain, Israel, England, Netherlands, Singapore, Canada, Russia, Croatia, Norway and 40 U.S. states!! We are totally overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for this scrappy little cat in his time of need."

Similar here in Minneapolis. Our OPEN buttons do work, at times. The driver opens all doors automatically unless the temperature is below 10°F/-12°C, then passengers operate them manually. You can tell they're on manual because the ring of tiny green LEDs around the button is lit up. In warmer weather they are not lit up, yet people stand there pounding on them and think they've accomplished something when seconds later their actions are positively reinforced by the door having been opened by the driver.
