I'll say it again. Missions are not required to be deeply profound. Sometimes they are, most of the time they're not. Sometimes they're interesting, a lot of the time they're pretty facile, such as today's. We're just here to have a little fun, not change the world.

There were probably ads on CNN while I was getting ready this morning, but I don't actually see the TV in that situation. I did actually lay my eyeballs on this tiny ad in a New York Times article I just read.

I suppose you have to take the photo from the same angle that your computer screen can "see," transfer the photo to that computer and open it full-screen, line yourself & camera up, and take a new photo.

@discomeg2: Thanks, it was fun to do! Those are meant to be hop leaves, too. Less successful than the cones. Well, less obvious, anyway. Color choices dictated by available crayons at the office. We used to have gobs of colored pencils but I couldn't find those.

I got my regular glasses when I was seven and never really got into wearing sunglasses, even when I wore contacts. I don't usually get frames that have compatible clip-ons.

Esquina Mexican Eats in my office building. They made incredible, authentic huevos rancheros for breakfast. Apparently they were three or four months behind on rent and just walked away, as evidenced by the bottle of sauce that didn't even make it back into the fridge. I'm waiting for it to explode one of these days.

Went to the suite next door where they've left it exposed. We're on the top floor. I've always found the brick ceiling to be a little creepy. Don't know why.

I probably had something else in mind when I suggested this mission, but coffee will do. I always used to only drink decaffeinated because caffeine has a pronounced effect on me, but then a year or two ago I threw caution to the wind and started drinking regular like there was no tomorrow. Every Saturday I endure the caffeine withdrawal headache.

This is one I'm starting to pick up. I started a job as a barista about two weeks ago, and I can already feel myself succumbing to the magic of caffeine.

@sethness: Oh I don't know. In this case it's about observing the world around you. So many times when I'm driving down the street just goin about my business I'll see two or three parked cars in a row of the same color. These missions don't have to be life-changing.

What's a "craft beer"? Is it icrobrewery stuff?

@stephie: I don't mind if someone else wants to join a conversation—heavens knows I do it myself often enough—but he completely misconstrued what I was trying to say about my own experience when I picked that book up the other night for the Favorite Children's Book mission, and then wouldn't stop challenging me. It just happens that he's already not my favorite person.
