I am going to volunteer to help other people. That's definitely something I never usually think of doing. One of my favorite food trucks, Smack Shack, is distributing free food to people in the north Minneapolis neighborhood that was ravaged by a tornado on Sunday, and I am going to join them at the truck to help after work today. (Photo is theirs.)

@superc0w: Absolutely I want the Pliny, even if it's only the Elder. I haven't looked it up lately but isn't the Younger seasonal? Maybe that's why it's hard to find. Really, I'd be happy with just the Elder. I don't want you to go too nuts tracking it down!

Forget babies, I'm excited because I was recently given this Odell Brewing St. Lupulin t-shirt by the local distributor! St. Lupulin (extra pale ale) is one of my favorite beers.

Yesterday a whole area of Minneapolis suffered a large tornado. While it wasn't obliterated like Joplin, Missouri, the damage is still pretty devastating for this somewhat lower-income part of town. The Mayor of Minneapolis just sent a link through for the local org that's accepting donations to help the people. Once again, the TT mission has inspired me to donate when I might otherwise not have.

This poor rabbit got knocked out on my daily commute bike trail late last summer. Its hind feet are at the top, its head at the bottom. You can just make out what's left of the ears.

In the last dream I remember from a couple of nights ago, I was getting jiggy with someone with whom I've been friends for years and for whom I feel an IRL attraction, but who IRL couldn't be less interested in getting anything going that way. In my dream I was surprised because he seemed amenable to the idea to the point of being a co-conspirator. It was weird, because I think it was influenced by the scene in "East of Eden" (which I had just watched) where Abra is comforting Cal under the weeping willow tree after his father has rejected the money and Aron comes out to get her.

"Should I See" by Frozen Ghost. Blast from the '80s! I had never seen the video until right now and twenty-five years ago never picked up on the anti-censorship bent of the lyrics. I was startled by how relevant the song still is in light of worldwide current events now. I wore out the first two albums and they'll be two of the first that I convert if I ever get one of those vinyl-to-digital turntable doohickeys.

I probably don't watch TV more than a lot of other people, nevertheless I am appalled by how much time I feel I waste doing it. I chose this screen shot because one of my favorite beers, Lagunitas IPA, made a cameo appearance in this show about underground cooking meet-ups in San Francisco.
