Some friends would be horrified, but I'm going to have to go with Jimmy et al here. It's not that they're terrible, they're a perfectly acceptable, if not very interesting, band. However, the hero-worship they seem to receive is ill-deserved, and probably more a result of Morrison's antics and untimely death and than their music.
Also, looking for pictures, I found about a dozen of Morrison making equally douchey hand gestures toward the camera and my annoyance increased.

Haha. With you on the douchy gestures. Pretty awful poetry too... Quite passable music though.
