@autoawesomeon: I looked. From what I can tell/see, there are three illustrations and they look like something you'd see in a geometry text book. Not exactly encouraging.

Les Mis looks out of place alright, but not as much as the James Harriot books. Love them, have for years... I guess that's why I tend to think of them as books for elementary-school girls

This really is one of those incredible journeys of a book- do read it!
Interestingly enough, this was one of Oprah's book club books. -

My spellcheck doesn't recognise the word "Americanist", I love that. That and the "One Dollar"

From the back cover: "Carl van Clausewitz's 'On War' has been called not simply the greatest, but the only truly great book on war. It is an extraordinary attempt to construct an all-embracing theory on how war works. Its coherence and ambition are unmatched by other military literature. 'On War' is full of sharp observation, biting irony, and memorable phrases, the most famous being, 'War is a continuation of politics by other means'"
I'll get to it eventually, but doesn't it just look daunting?-

Damn, and I thought my HTML Bible was a long read...
Ha, imagine how much smarter we'd be if it was actually essential...

Gossip Girl has been so cruel recently with it's huge gaps between episodes. I also feel lame watching it, but it's impossible to quit, isn't it?

I had to explain this to the people I was with, some of whom I'd never met before, so they knew what was going on when I whipped my camera out. Their reaction was to pose. And then get me to pose. Apparently the Swedish/Danish/Norwegian/Finnish (we couldn't decide which) men behind us wanted to pose too. I'm in the bottom left.

On my way back from taking the first picture I discovered the second street hiding between the French and Canadian Embassies and couldn't decide which I preferred, so they're both here. I just very much enjoy the need for Polish streets named after people to be in the genitive form, even when you end up with names like Hoovera.

Good find! Very cute and comfortable looking... not always an easy combo to find. As for the rain, your feet will get wet no matter what, those holes might actually make it easier for them to dry.
