I like the building around the corner. It's not pretty (and in fact the area smells pretty bad) but it holds the closest bar. I think that is cool.

I have some weird old iron victorian fireplace enclosures. mine aren't necessarily ugly but they just stand there leaning (on a non-working fireplace :) ha.
What if you just keep the enclosure open? maybe that will make it look a little better.. and maybe put some nice candles in there? ta-daaa! -

@leopicado: Yeah, I don't enjoy looking at it, but I like knowing what's up instead of guessing on my finances... and whether I like it or not, I see it (the entire loan amount) listed in my online banking.
My tactic is I move a set $ amount from checking--> another account every week. At the end of the month, I move the monthly payment to the mortgage account. Lots of moving $ around, but I like feeling ballsy & in control! :) -
