I could take the easy way out, and show you all a picture of the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty. Instead, I give you something much closer to where I from: a picture of the gorgeous Adirondack mountains at the height of autumn color. Not everyone in New York lives in New York City.

I grew up in Gloversville (about an hour north of Albany). It's so pretty up there.

I live in a little village in up state NY of about 500 people but if I tell someone I'm from New Your they ask about the city 90% of the time. Many people do not realize NYC is a little part of a big state.
