That is indeed a much richer idea of tragedy. It's no wonder Greek tragedies are so full of insight into our frail condition and still resonate so well now. It's beginning to bum me out that so little these days measures up. Saying that, we're most probably only left with the highlights of hundreds of years of Greek culture.

in england the equivalent company seems to do most of their business online or via directory enquiries. the books are still around but are less of a staple.

Wow. That picture brings it home how insanely big Tokyo is. Massive. Utterly massive. A very good friend of mine lives there and I have been promising to visit for ages. It does look like an incredible place.

@merendis: Wow. That's quite something.
I wonder what the gravitational effect would be of the Earth having rings, if any. Would there be any other side effects?
I think Saturn looks better with them. It has a minimal grace that is set off well by the rings.
Good blog too. I think I might subscribe to that when I get back.
