Yeah, I love the movies so I figured it was probably time to read the books, too....and they're SO GOOD. I've started having Harry Potter dreams and everything

I've read them twice. The last few chapters of Book 7 are fantastic.

@soarkaios: I loved the LoTR movies! But I'm not a fan of Tolkein's writing style...I couldn't make it through the books when I tried...

I've never even picked up a copy. although I do go to all the movie openings and whatnot. sigh, I'm such a hypocrite.

@pensandpencilsgalore: I never had either, and also always went to the movie openings (I admit I even dressed up as Hagrid for one of them). If you have a chance, I would definitely recommend reading them - as much as I love the movies, I love the books even more! There's so much more time to develop characters and get to know more about the smaller characters like Neville, who actually have a much bigger role in the books than the movies.

@splashmary: I just may have to do that! I fear getting addicted though, ah well! I say bring it! ;)

@soarkaios: You've that right!!! I have read LoTR twice, first time in Spanish and second time in English... and yes! There were some miniscule differences.
