I swore that this would never happen again, and it has not since 1986 when seven friends and I dressed up like the "Eight maids a-milking" for a Christmas show. A line has been crossed, a secret shame has been unearthed, and new scars have been meted out. The things I do for you people. *Shoes provided by one of the sisters, of the female variety.

@stephie: When you are openly black, gay, and your mother is a therapist, the last thing that you need to do in your formative years is to put on a wig and a dress, and then look in the mirror to discover that you look exactly like your mother. Norman Bates much? Why yes, yes I do.

Hey I think between your dress up, and my birth, we made '86 a good year!

@notanotherskye: Neither can I. I could barely get my toes in them. Women, set yourselves free. It's not worth it.

Sounds traumatizing! Both in the Norman Bates sense and the traumatization that your feet experienced.

Sheesh. . . pointed toes? I can somewhat understand why people wear high heels, but as soon as they add pointed toes to the mix they're just plain insane.
